Aidan Turner Returns to the Theatre in Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons

Aidan Turner is back in on stage in London's West End next year! He's starring with Jenna Coleman in the play  Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons not only in London but in Manchester and Brighton too!  Since his West End debut in the brilliant The Lieutenant of Inishmore (2018) fans have been hoping he would return to the theatre once more. Well now, the wait is over!

Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons is a rom-com set in a world where the Hush Law means everyone is limited to speaking just 140 words a day.  In this two-person play we see the characters Bernadette (Jenna Coleman) and Oliver (Aidan Turner)  before and after the Hush Law is introduced, their reaction to the law and how it comes to affect their lives as they fall in love.

Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons premiered in 2015 at the Warwick Arts Centre and had three runs at the Edinburgh fringe. Whilst the writer, Sam Steiner, describes the play as a rom-com, reviews of earlier productions have seen it as having some political and cultural relevance to the issues of the day, too. In the past the audience has talked of it being about austerity or Brexit so it will be interesting to see which, if any,  of today's myriad of issues are reflected in it.

Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons is at  the Harold Pinter theatre, London, from 18 January to 18 March. It then runs at the Manchester Opera House (22-25 March) and Theater Royal Brighton (28 March -1 April).
